Online help for Terrafox AVHS


Once logged in, a number of links will be available at the top:

  • Live View - Shows your available cameras.
  • Recordings - Shows recordings from your cameras.
  • Settings - Shows your account settings.


Live view


The live view page is where you can view live streams from your cameras.

The following buttons are available for each camera:

Snapshot button - Opens a new window with a snapshot image from the camera.
Record buttons - Start and stop a recording of the live video stream.
Stream buttons - Stop and start playback of the live video stream.
Settings button - Opens the settings page for the camera.

Other buttons may appear depending on camera model and what functionality the device supports, access rights and system configuration.


Recordings


This page shows the recordings saved for your cameras. These recordings can be shown in a list or as entries in a calendar.

List view

In list view, the latest recording is shown at the top of the list.

Clicking on the "Cloud" link will download the recording from Terrafox AVHS and play it in a media player. Depending on how the recording has been created and where it is stored a "Direct" link may also be available which will download the recording directly from a local storage device.

To delete one or more recordings, select the recordings by using the check boxes on the left and click the button "Delete selected".

To download two or more recordings, select the recordings by using the check boxes on the left and click the button "Download selected as zip".

Calendar view

The calendar view shows an overview of your current recordings by days in a month.

By clicking on a day that contains recordings the list view of the recordings for the selected day will be shown.


Settings


From this page you can access all the settings for your account such as changing your login password, add and delete devices, manage guest accounts and similar.

Account

The links available in this box are:

  • Edit account
  • Change password
  • Add new device
  • Add new guest
  • History

Messages

The link available in this box is:

  • Notifications - Allows you to configure notifications. See also "Notifications" below.

Viewer method

Available in this box is selection of viewer method for live views and the following links:

  • Edit views - A view defines which cameras to show, in which order to show them and the stream profile to use.
  • Edit sequence - A sequence defines how to cycle between cameras and views.

Devices

The list shows all the devices connected to your account.

To change the settings for a particular device, click on the name in this list. See also "Edit device" below.

Guests

The list shows all the guests you have created for your account.

To change the settings for a particular guest, click on the name in the list. See also "Manage guest" below.


Notifications

This page allows notifications to be configured.

Notifications can be used to send notification messages whenever an alarm occurs or if the connectivity changes for any of your devices.

To specify for what and how notifications should be sent, click the "Create notification rule". This will open the configuration page for notifications. Select the devices for which the rule should apply, the notification trigger, the recipients, a limit on the max number of notification to send and press "Add".

The available triggers are:

  • Device becomes unreachable - The device has disconnected from the service.
  • Device comes online - The device has connected to the service.
  • Alarm arrives (cameras only) - The camera has uploaded an alarm recording.

The available notification methods vary, but can be the following:

  • E-mail - Send an e-mail to the specified e-mail address.
  • Text message - Send an SMS text message to the specified mobile phone number.
  • HTTP request - Send an HTTP request to the specified URL.

In order for a notification rule to be active a notification schedule need to be specified. Such a schedule can be specified by clicking "Create new schedule".


Edit device

This page allows settings for a device to be reviewed and changed.

Edit device

The settings available in this box depends on the device model. The settings shown below are available for most camera models.

  • Name - The name of your enhet. If omitted, the serial number of the device is used.
  • Timezone - The timezone for the location of the device.
  • Rotation - Allows the image from a camera to be rotated.
  • Status LED behavior - Controls the behavior of the status LED.
  • Audio - Indicates if audio is available and controls if audio is enabled.

Configure recordings

The links available in this box are:

  • Scheduled & triggered - Leads to the "Configure scheduled & triggered recordings" page.
  • Manual - Leads to the "Configure manual recordings" page.

The "Configure scheduled & triggered recordings" page allow you to set up scheduled and triggered recordings.

The default schedule specifies a recording that is always active. To change this, uncheck "Always active" and specify your own schedule.

Please note that separate recordings must be configured in order to record at different times on the same day.

A recording is started either by a the schedule or by one of the built in functions in the camera, such as movement in a motion detection window or by a signal detected on the digital input.

The "Configure manual recordings" page allows you to configure manual recordings, recordings started from the live view page.

The available options are similar to those available for scheduled and triggered recordings - a location for the recording and a stream profile.

Stream profiles

Available in this box is the following link:

  • Manage - Leads to the "Stream profiles" page.

The "Stream profiles" page provides management of stream profiles. A stream profile defines settings for a live stream. This includes frame rate, resolution, video codec and overlay text. A stream profile is used whenever a live stream or images are fetched from a camera.

Whether a stream profile can be used for a certain function or not depends on a number of factors, such as account subscription, device model and system configuration. To help with this, the management page indicates what the profile can be used for.


Manage guest

Depending on your account it may also be possible to create guest accounts. These accounts gives others (family, friends or similar) limited access to your account.

On the guest management page you may change the guest account info and the access rights. Access rights are divided into system permissions and device permissions.

  • System permissions - What the guest is allowed to do or access on the system.
  • Device permissions - What the guest is allowed to do or access on the device.

At least one system permission rule is required for the guest to be able to log in.

A rule is defined by access rights and a schedule for when the rule is active.
